This restaurant just recently opened, if I'm not mistaken, only for a few months. It's starting to look like a place mainly for students, not only because of its convenient location in Sunway Pyramid for Sunway University students but also because of its prices. I've been coming here quite often because every time I eat there, they give me a RM5 voucher. A little bit discount better than no discount ;)
#studentbudget

 Here's the interior.
It is located in between Maybank and Asian Avenue at the new wing.

Right now, they're having a lunch promotion. Choose any mains from the menu, it comes with soup and ice lemon tea. If you want to upgrade to one of their specialty drinks, a top up of RM2 is required.

An example from the lunch promo.
Chicken Bolognese Pasta (+ chicken soup & ice lemon tea) RM 18

Lunch Promo: Chicken Parmigiana (+ chicken soup & ice lemon tea) RM 18
Ala Carte: Chicken Parmigiana RM 12

All in all, I would definitely recommend this place. The staff are friendly and attentive, food was good and prices were great as well :) With the RM 5 voucher, the total for 2 chicken parmigianas and warm water was only RM 20.

Here's the rest of their menu. As you can see, it's definitely more affordable than most places (except fast food restaurants) in Pyramid, from a student's point of view.

Catch them on FB here.

I like how this is probably the only cafe I know so far that has sexual innuendos from its name to the menu ;) Anyways I like this cafe cause it's usually peaceful, student-friendly (many plug points around) and the staff are friendly as well, it's also furnished with aircond inside including the smoking zone.

It's located at the same row as Starbucks, facing Asia Cafe and on the first floor. When you go up the stairs, you'll see this:

This is their interior design, I like how they're very creative in the Arts department, there's no dull wall to look at ;) Their mascott seems to be the male deer.

That ass though ;D

A new place, my beau and I tried a few weeks back, that deserves a post because of its unique dishes that you don't find in other cafes. It's very different in terms of cutlery, plates and their combination of the food palette.

I had their Salmon Croquette which is one of their signature dish, consisted of breaded French toast served with pan seared salmon, spinach, poached egg, mushroom, fried peach and a shot of infused Guinness + red wine reduction. It may look like a small portion, at that time I was starving but it actually made me really full.

Salmon Croquette RM 26

We also tried their Granola Parfait that comes with breakfast granola, yogurt + honey, mixed fruits (strawberry, grapes, apple) and strawberry yogurt gelato. Stir it around and you got yourself a healthy and delicious meal!
Granola Parfait RM 15

Though I did not get to try many food items from their menu; I'd say that if one day you were to be strolling pass Kota Damansara and want to treat yourself for a good meal, this is the cafe for you to visit! Also it would be a nice place to take someone on a date ;)

Looking for a place to shisha and have reasonably low priced banana leaf? This must be your place! We were invited via instagram by TheShishack to their set up at "Plates and Leaf". The first round of drinks were on the house and made specially by the barista whose had experience working as a barista so he knows his way around drinks.

This was what he made for us. It's a mixture of passion fruit, lemon tea and a tinge of syrup :) It cost us RM 4. (Because we ordered more than one after the first round haha)

I'm a person who does not like sugar in my drinks. So he custom made another drink for me that was not on the menu.

This is a mixture of predominantly orange, lemon and lime. Definitely was all natural fructose ;)

So, my friends had the banana leaf which cost RM 6; that would get you  4 vegetables, a choice of chicken, fish, dhall curry or ALL of them (banjir style), papadam etc and warm water. But they said they ran out of veges etc because who usually eats banana leaf at night haha, you can check out the menu below.

Banana Leaf - vegetarian (RM 6)

This is their menu at the moment which they are going to be updating soon.

Today was the official launch for their shisha which cost us RM 10. They recommended Peach & Pink Guava which tasted good and fruity, if you like those sort of flavors.
You won't miss this place, if you pass by, because it's the only dominantly green colored restaurant along white colored rows of shop lots and also it's right next to Pelita SS15.
Do check out their FB page here.

Will be coming back on one fine Sunday for their briyani rice which happens to only be available on Sunday afternoon (according to them).

My friend and I ordered their Flat White, Lemongrass Pomegranate-Berry and Strawberry Pie. Pictures of the menu/pricing are at the bottom of the post but I guess for students, it can come off as slightly pricey. The staff are super super super friendly though, it's a comfortable place and their playlist has so much chill. A great place to unwind and have a cosy hang out sesh :)

The comfy couch outside with pillows!

Flat White (H) RM 10 / (C) RM 11
Lemongrass Pomegranate-Berry RM 9

Strawberry Pie (3.5 inches) RM12

From the top layer, it's strawberries, whipped cream, caramel, more whipped cream, strawberries and finally, an oat biscuit, like those below cheesecakes. In my opinion, it's pricey for a small sized pie but it was pretty delicious. And why not? Indulge yourself a little right? So you've a choice of 3.5, 7 or 9 inches of the circumference but of course; the larger it is, the more beautiful the price is.

There are also flavors like Banoffee, Mango (seasonal though), Duffee (durian) and Musang King (seasonal as well). They also have a variety of cakes to choose from which all sounds so yummy but sadly they didn't have the ones we wanted to try. I always think why go to a place where you can get what you can get from other places. Might as well try something new or the cafe's own creation ;)

Right now they're having a lunch promo. You've a selection of mains that comes with Iced Lemon Tea and Dessert of the Day. Tell me that isn't worth it ;)

I must really commend how friendly and helpful the staff were, honestly! I think they are a great example of the service industry :)

A student with a budget and an endless love for Japanese cuisine (like yours truly) would absolutely love this place:
SUSHI MENTAI

At my visit to the USJ branch which is right next to CIMB bank, I really like how their prices is much cheaper and are on par (in my opinion) with Sushi King and Sakae Sushi.

Started off with green tea (RM 1) as is the case. They provide hot tea in a little jug and if you wanted iced green tea, they'll just provide you with ice. So pretty much self-service I guess but that's good! So we don't have to keep calling the waiter/waitress for refills.

There was only two plates of color; Red (RM 2.80) and Yellow (RM 1.80).
Shocking prices, I know!

Salmon Mentai

Takoyaki/Wheat Flour Octopus

This is my third time here and I absolutely love their cold soba with mixed tempura (RM 12.80). You have a choice of having the soba (RM 8.80) alone though, and choose between buckwheat (brown) or chasoba (green). I guess just for a RM 4 top up, you might as well eat your soba with the mixed tempura!

Tenzaru Soba
(RM 12.80)

Here are some of the other food we ordered:

Chawanmushi RM 3.80

Each time I go to a Japanese restaurant, I never fail to order this; one of my favorites. Their Agedashi Tofu was pretty good, crispy and not too soft. They're generous with the fish flakes as you can see ;)

Agedashi Tofu RM 4.80

Tori Katsu RM 8.80
Essentially it's Japanese chicken chop ;)

Salmon Sashimi RM 10.90
Tasted really fresh!

All prices are exclusive of service charge (10%) and GST (6%).
I totally recommend this place for people with low budgets with an avid love for Japanese food :)
Check out their website here
However, if you don't live near Subang, they've other outlets in Kepong, SS2, Puchong, Kajang and more. Even one outlet in Penang.
See you there! ;)
